VIDEO: J.J. Hardy Smacks Two Home Runs to Keep Orioles Undefeated

J.J. Hardy had himself a day for the Baltimore Orioles.

Hardy smacked two home runs to lead the Orioles over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday 9-5. Hardy earned his 12th career two home run game while knocking in five runs.

Both of Hardy’s home runs went to right field. Only ten of his 177 career round trippers have went to right field, and right field in Fenway Park isn’t your typical right field.

“I don’t think I hit one ball to the right of second base during batting practice,” Hardy said while smiling, per the Baltimore Sun.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, Hardy’s first home run went 327 feet while his second went 339 feet.

“The first one I think was a pretty decent swing,” J.J. Hardy said. “It was just kind of protect with two strikes. I think the wind helped a little bit, just pushed it around the pole and then the second one, I mean it was a pop-up, either a foul ball or an out in most ballparks. I’ll take them.”

Those two home runs were Hardy’s first two of the season. He is now batting .250/.304/.650 on the young 2016 season.
