Jason Rogers has been exceptional all year long coming off the bench as a pinch-hitter for the Brewers, and they really felt his impact today.
Rogers came into the Brewers game versus the Cardinals today batting .468 with one home run and five runs batted in, leading the Brewers with 12 pinch-hits on the year. His 13th one was perhaps the biggest and best one of the season.
With the Brewers down 3-1 in the 9th inning with the bases loaded and no one out, Brewers manager Craig Counsell turned to his bench player, and Rogers didn’t disappoint.
The grand slam was apart of the seven run inning the Brewers had in the 9th inning, leading them to a 8-4 win. Rogers is now batting .306 on the year with 4 home runs and 16 runs batted in.
Rogers also became the 5th Brewers player to hit a pinch-hit grand slam in the team’s 45-year history.
