Milwaukee Brewers infielder Jonathan Villar‘s name was missing from Craig Counsell‘s lineup card for a second day on Sunday due to a knee injury, but that didn’t stop Villar in contributing.
In the 6th inning of Sunday’s Brewers-Pirates contest, Villar was called to pinch-hit with the bases loaded and two outs in-place of Brewers pitcher Chase Anderson in a game that was 1-0 to that point.
Let’s just say Villar made the most of his at-bat:
That grand slam was the first of Villar’s young Major League career, which help accounted for 4 of the runs the Brewers scored in their 10-0 win over the Pirates on Sunday afternoon.
Villar is now batting .296/.377/.446 with 12 homers, 51 RBIs, and 51 stolen bases for the 2016 season.
