VIDEO: Pre-Season Top Prospect Byron Buxton Connects on First MLB Home Run

Byron Buxton was ranked the best prospect in baseball prior to the season ranking ahead of Kris Bryant and Carlos Correa, the favorites to win the Rookie of the Year award in the National League and American League.

Buxton hasn’t exactly had the same success as Bryant or Correa, as he came into the Twins game yesterday versus the Tigers batting .197 with no home runs and three runs batted in. He changed the no home runs part of his stats real quick, however, belting his first Major League home run in his 121st at-bat.

You knew that the silent treatment would happen there. Buxton helped earned the Twins their 80th win of the season, keeping them 1.5 games back of the Astros for the second wild card spot in the American League.

This is going to be a fun final week of baseball.
