Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant scored 39 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished out three assists to lead the Warriors past his former team the Oklahoma City Thunder 122-96 on Thursday night.

This was the first game for Durant with the Warriors since choosing to leave Oklahoma City this off-season after seven years. He shot 15-24 from the field, while knocking down 7 of his 11 three-point attempts.

“As soon as the game started it brought back some memories, but after that it was back to business,” Durant said following the game.

When Warriors head coach Steve Kerr subbed Durant out with 6:41 left in the game, he left to a standing ovation, as the fans at Oracle Arena started chanting “K-D!”

The 28-year-old Durant has now scored 20+ points in 69 straight games, and his 39 points last night matched the most by a player facing his former team for the first time in NBA history. Stephon Marbury and Danny Ainge are the other players to score 39.

Durant is averaging 30.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game this season.
