Before you know it, NBA training camps will be kicking off, followed by pre-season games, and then the start of the 2016-2017 regular season.

If you are a Golden State Warriors staff member, you can’t wait until training camp begins. That’s the case with Warriors assistant coach Ron Adams.

Adams, who was an assistant coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2008-2010, can’t wait to see how the Warriors utilize Kevin Durant, who signed a two-year, $54.7 million contract with Golden State this off-season.

In fact, Adams told Monte Poole that he believes Kevin Durant will improve his play making skills under Warriors head coach Steve Kerr:

“He can play the point; he played point a lot for Oklahoma City over the years. He likes involving his teammates,” said Adams of Durant. “I don’t know how you rank him in the pantheon of current players, but no matter how you do it, he’s certainly in the top three in the world.”

One of the things that lead Kevin Durant to Golden State was Jerry West telling Durant he thought his play making was underappreciated with the Thunder. With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green around him, Durant will be on everyone’s minds all season.

Durant averaged 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 5 assists per game last season. Durant’s single season high for assists per game is 5.5, which he recorded in 2013-2014, his MVP season.
