Wesley Matthews will miss the rest of the season according to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski with a torn left Achilles. Matthews suffered the injury on a non-contact play during Thursday night’s Dallas Mavericks Portland Trail Blazers game. Matthews started to move towards the basket, then just fell down like he collapsed.
Portland’s Wesley Matthews suffered a left torn Achilles tendon and will miss the rest of season, a league source tells Yahoo Sports.

Matthews was averaging 16.1 points, 2.3 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game in 59 games this season with the Blazers. This was a contract year for Matthews. Arron Affalo is expected to take Matthews’ spot in the Blazers lineup. Affalo was acquired by the team a couple of weeks ago at the NBA’s trading deadline.
