Eastern Conference

Kyle Lowry

With DeMar DeRozan out, Lowry has been carrying the Raptors so far this season. Lowry is currently averaging 20 points 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Not only that, he is a very good defender. Without him there is no way the Raptors would be 24-9.

Jimmy Butler

New York Knicks v Chicago Bulls

If the season ended today, Jimmy Butler would be the clear cut winner for most improved player. His offensive game has improved so much. He is currently averaging 22 points and 6 rebounds. Another thing that you can’t forget about Butler is that he is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA.

LeBron James

Yes, I know the Cavs are having a down year but you can’t blame it all on Lebron. Stats wise, he is having yet again a great season. He is currently averaging 25 points 7 assists and 5 rebounds.

Pau Gasol

There aren’t very many other good power forwards in the east, so I am picking Pau Gasol. Pau Gasol been terrific for the Bulls so far this year. He is currently averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh is certainly NOT the reason why the Heat have a losing record. He is having his best season (stats wise) as a member of the Miami Heat. He is currently averaging 21 points and 8 rebounds.

Western Conference

Stephen Curry

I was going to say Russell Westbrook for this one, but I won’t because he has missed a good chunk of the season so far. But Stephen Curry has played at a very high level this year. He is currently averaging 23 points 8 assists and 5 rebounds.

James Harden

If the season ended today, James Harden might be the league MVP. When Dwight Howard was out, Harden was carrying them. Harden is currently averaging 27 points 6 assists and 6 rebounds.

LaMarcus Aldridge

NBA: Preseason-Portland Trail Blazers at Phoenix Suns

LaMarcus Aldridge is best player on the on the team that is currently 2nd in the western conference. He is currently averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds. The reason why I picked Aldridge over Blake Griffin was because Aldridge is averaging more points and 3 more rebounds.

Anthony Davis

The Brow is having his best season as a pro. You could make a case that he should be an MVP candidate. He is currently averaging 24 points and 10 rebounds. He also leads the NBA in blocks per game with 2.91.

Marc Gasol

Marc Gasol is easily having his best offensive season as a pro. He is currently averaging 20 points along with 8 rebounds. He has easily been the best Center in the west this season. You also can’t forget how great of a defensive player he is.
