Yasiel Puig (Hamstring) Hopes to Return This Weekend

Yasiel Puig has been out since April 24th with a nagging left hamstring strain. Puig had been dealing with the injury for two weeks prior to being placed on the list. Puig is now hoping the hamstring injury is in the past that will allow him to comeback this weekend, even though he is not 100%.

“I feel good,” said Puig, shortly after his rehab game in the minor leagues. “I want to be back by Saturday, but it’s not my decision. We’ll have to talk with the doctors.”

“I’m not 100 percent now, but it felt comfortable,” said Puig, who has never been on the disabled list before this stint. “I did my job, did my rehab in Arizona and I’ll come back here [to Lancaster] tomorrow night.”

Puig has two home runs with four runs batted which is good for a .279 batting average.
