Jabari Parker Out for Rest Purposes Tonight vs. Magic

Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker will sit out tonight’s game versus Orlando Magic in Orlando for rest purposes, according to the official Bucks game notes.

The official reasoning for Parker’s absence tonight is listed as a coach’s decision, which means it’s the Bucks taking a conservative and cautious approach with Parker, who has played in 4 games for Milwaukee since returning from his ACL surgery.

It makes sense to rest Parker tonight on the back end of a back-to-back set of games for the Bucks as well, as they played in Miami against the Heat last night, with Parker scoring only 4 points in 19 minutes. Last night was the first game for Parker where he didn’t appear to be as aggressive, as he didn’t get to the free throw line once, and didn’t score in double figures for the first time since returning.

Parker is still coming off the bench for Milwaukee in-order to limit his minutes, which the Bucks have currently set for a 15-20 minute restriction. There will also be one change to Milwaukee’s starting lineup tonight, as Thon Maker will replace John Henson as the team’s starting center likely, with Henson out due to right hamstring soreness that flared up on him last night in Miami.

The 22-year-old Parker is averaging 9.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game so far this season, with his per 36 minutes being 18.8 points per game, and 5.1 rebounds per game.
