I’m having a hard time choosing between who’s been the best player in the NBA so far this season.

Yes, that may sound like a crazy statement with the way Warriors guard Stephen Curry is shooting the ball this year at a 45% clip from three point land, but I am going out east and targeting Paul George when people ask me who’s been the best player in the league so far.

Last year when the Pacers brought Paul George back coming off of a horrific leg injury at the end of the season, he looked horrible. He even managed to get himself hurt in the Pacers final game again, and he looked uncomfortable all around. I didn’t know what to make of his coming into this season, but I sure do now.

George is averaging 32.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game over the last five games and an overall season average of 27.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

The 27.4 points are the most by any player in the Eastern Conference, and of course Stephen Curry’s 32 points per game average is the best in the Western Conference, and overall for that matter.

The Warriors are 20-0 in large part due to Curry, and the Pacers are 12-5 in large part due to Paul George. The Pacers play the Warriors on Tuesday, so it will be a good battle between the two top MVP candidates in the league right now.
