Melvin Gordon’s Mom Won’t Wear his Chargers Jersey Until he Proves Himself

The San Diego Chargers moved up in the 2015 NFL Draft to select Melvin Gordon and make him the future star running back for their team. Gordon has ripped off some nice runs in practice, but his mom, Carmen Gordon, isn’t going to wear his jersey until he proves himself in the NFL.

“You’ve got to show me a little something, but it won’t be this year,” Carmen Gordon said, via ESPN. “So you might see me in the stands, but I won’t have the jersey on. I did the same thing in college because I just want to hear what people are saying.”

Well, if she did the same thing in college, it clearly motivated Gordon. He finished second in Heisman voting behind Marcus Mariota, and ran for 2,740 yards. He also had the most rushing yards in a single college game at one point with 408 yards.
