Report: Nets Will Shop Joe Johnson and Jarrett Jack This Summer

Joe Johnson and Jarrett Jack were both big parts in the Nets run to the playoffs this season, but with the Nets needing cap space and possibly a brighter future, the team will reportedly look to move both Johnson and Jack, or just one of them. Due to the luxury tax and cap space, the Nets will have to move some big contracts on their roster one way or another.

Per Marc Stein of ESPN:

It is widely assumed the Nets will explore the trade markets for both Joe Johnson (with his expiring $24.9 million deal) and Jarrett Jack (due $12.6 million over the next two seasons but only partially guaranteed in 2016-17) to try to get away from tax territory that way, instead of waiving and stretching Deron Williams.

Brook Lopez could opt-out of his contract to save the Nets some cap space and re-sign at a lower deal. Teams will however be after Lopez so his contract could come off the book for the Nets. The Nets have had discussions about trading their big three of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez. The Nets talked to the Kings about Deron Williams, while Joe Johnson was almost a Hornet or Piston, and Brook Lopez nearly was traded to the Thunder.
