Rams RB Todd Gurley (Knee) Won’t Play Week One vs. Seahawks

Earlier today at 4 eastern, which is the deadline for NFL teams to cut their roster down to 53 players, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher held a press conference to discuss what we thought would be roster cuts.

Fisher however, doesn’t believe in telling everyone what players made and the team and which ones didn’t, because he believes it gives teams a competitive advantage when others announce their cuts. What Fisher came to discuss was the Rams 2015 1st round pick Todd Gurley.

Gurley tore his ACL during his final season at Georgia, and the ACL injury ruined his draft stock in the draft, causing him to slip a few spots. Fisher decided to take a chance on him, and the Rams are taking a smart approach with Gurley by not rushing him back, as Fisher announced Gurley won’t play in the Rams first game versus the Seahawks.

Gurley was on pace to have a career year during his Junior year, as he rushed for 911 yards on 123 attempts with 9 touchdowns.
